Southwest Jiao tong university rail transportation research center

Yancheng orbit transportation research center of southwest Jiao tong university (hereinafter referred to as the "center"), is organized by the department of the people's government of Yancheng city and southwest Jiao tong university. This center has a total area about 72000 square meters, and a total construction area about 60000 square meters, there will build the orbit transportation research and development center, laboratory, and test loop of research results. This center will take rail transit vehicle as the research object to develop a basic and forward-looking, strategic innovation center which takes high speed, heavy-duty train and virtual rail trains, low-speed maglev train, high temperature superconducting maglev train as the core. It will also include research, development and application, achievements transformation and promotion, technical consulting, training services, at the same time, it will also cultivate rail transit related technical talents. 

Center owns a high-quality scientific research team, led by a number of academician’s high academic attainments, young and middle-aged technology experts and a group of capable technical personnel. The age of the entire team and knowledge structure are reasonable, they have a sense of solidarity cooperation and good scientific dedication

Center will become a huge platform for rail transportation technology research and development , it will committee to the popularization and application of  the advanced technology—orbit traffic in yancheng city and other related application areas, and assist related departments of urban rail transit lines and industry planning in yancheng city. It will also influence rail transit industry development in east China and lead our country`s rail technology to the world level, which will makes great contribution to the modernization of the railway industry in China.
