The catenary power supply way widely used existing trams, but due to the destruction of catenary system to city planning, limiting circuit transformation will influence the traffic capacity of urban landscape, and many other shortcomings. the modern city`s demand of catenary tram is very urgent. Although the non-catenary trams power supply technology such as flow technology, energy storage type power supply technology, induction power supply technology and so on have characteristics, but also have shortcomings. Also, the technology for traction power supply system inquires very high requirements, it needs to lay the ground along the power supply facilities or induction facilities or high power charging infrastructure, and the line costs are high. Fuel cell tram is adopting new energy (hydrogen) technology without catenary modern tram, this new technology uses the electrochemical reaction power which creates by v and air, and only leaves clean water, and it will not cause environmental pollution. Hydrogenation fuel cell trams only need to fuel up in the appropriate position construction site, in the process of running it relies on the power generation, the fuel cell system can operate without external power supply, thus can completely get rid of the traction power supply system.
This project belongs to the urban rail transit and new energy application field, it conforms to the state public transport priority development, and focuses on developing large high-speed carrying capacity, the new energy technologies and equipment, and also it will to push the urban rail transit construction of subway, light rail, tram, etc. The Project goal is to develop fuel cells application of the tram, promote the industrialization process, promote the improvement of the urban public traffic system, and solve the congestion and urban pollution problems which obeys the national major requirements.
Fuel cell hybrid technology as a kind of without internal combustion engine and ground power supply, it will lead the rail transit tram to transform into the green, efficient, non-internal combustion engine, non-traction power supply system, and also promote transformation and upgrade the industrial structure. At present, our country has fell behind Japan, South Korea, the United States, Germany and other countries in the field of fuel cell train, but in the rail transit applications, our country has obtained certain advantages. therefore, this project will make our country`s rail transit power fuel cell battery hybrid power system technology and products walk in the forefront of the international field, this also can promote our country's independent innovation ability and enhance the core competitiveness in the globe.
